We had an excellent Stahl Health Lecture on Brain Injury on October 13th, 2010 at the Twenty Ninth Street Mall Community Room.

"HEADS UP ON TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY: Recognizing Injuries & Getting Medical Help"

Judy Dettmer, Director of Colorado’s TBI Programs

Each year, about 1.7 million Americans sustain a brain injury. Nearly 50,000 of them die and many who survive are left with a permanent disability. Anyone is susceptible:

  • school-aged children involved in sports,
  • adults who have been in a bicycle or automobile accident,
  • veterans traumatized by war,
  • older adults who have suffered a fall. Don’t let a traumatic brain injury change your life!

    Learn:

  • To recognize and properly respond to concussions and traumatic brain injuries.
  • The possibilities of recovery and growth.
  • The resources available to you and to your loved ones (including the Mapleton Rehab Center at Boulder Community Hospital).

Ask the questions to learn what you can do.

Sponsored by the Grillo Health Information Center and Roche Colorado Corporation.
